WEAYAYA - SETTING SUN
WEAYAYA MEANS 'SETTING SUN' IN SIOUX. THIS IS THE FIRST IMAGE IN THE TRIPTYCH.
I FELT COMPELLED TO NAME THIS POWERFUL PIECE 'SETTING SUN'. THE MUSTANGS RAN LIKE WARRIORS CHASING THE LAST BEAMING RAYS OF THE DAYS SUN ONLY MOMENTS BEFORE THE LIGHT DISAPPEARED BEHIND THE HARSH MOUNTAINSCAPE. THE COLD DARKNESS OF SHADOW ON THEIR LEFT AND THE WARMTH AND LIGHT OF THE SUN ON THEIR RIGHT. SOUNDS AND VIBRATIONS OF THUNDER REFLECT THEIR STRENGTH POUNDING ON EARTH. THE SMOKE OF RISING DUST FROM THE FORCE OF THEIR HOOVES CREATED AN OMONIMOUS AND SURREAL YET BEAUTIFUL AND CALM REALM - LIKE THE FLEETING MOMENTS THAT SEPARATE SHADOW AND LIGHT, SLEEP AND AWAKE, INHALE AND EXHALE, FIGHT OR FLIGHT, LIFE AND DEATH... JUST AS LIFE IS FOR WILD MUSTANGS WITH EACH DAY OF THE SETTING SUN.
AFTER I CAPTURED THIS IMAGE I STOOD IN AWE OVER THEIR STRENGTH, POWER, BEAUTY, GRACE, PASSION, AND PERSEVERANCE FOR LIFE.
