AR-KE-KEE-TAY IS THE SPOKEN WORD FOR 'STAY' IN THE AMERICAN INDIAN LANGUAGE. I CANT LOCATE THE TRIBE THAT USED THIS WORD BUT AS SOON AS I FOUND IT I KNEW THIS PIECE MUST BE CALLED AR-KE-KEE-TAH BECAUSE IT WAS SO FITTING TO THE IMAGE AND MOMENT. THESE ARE TWO STALLIONS. NOTE ALL THE MARKS AND CUTS AND REGARD HOW SWEET, LOVING, AND CARING THEY ARE TO EACH OTHER DURING THIS MOMENT. THE JUXTAPOSITION BETWEEN THE POWER AND TOUGHNESS AND THE TENDERNESS AND RELATIONSHIP THAT THESE TWO STALLIONS HAVE IS REMARKABLE. I NAMED THIS PIECE ‘STAY’ BECAUSE THE MOMENT WAS SO ENDURING AND I FELT LIKE BOTH HORSES WERE CONNECTED BY SOMETHING UNBREAKABLE AND SO BEAUTIFUL. I WANTED THE MOMENT TO STAY. I DIDN'T WANT THE MOMENT TO END... AND I CAN ONLY WONDER IF THEY FELT THE SAME WAY.
